Story of a Trunk

background

Ann recalls that "My father joined the Royal Navy and visited the far east and fell in love with it.
He and his pal bought themselves out of the Navy and settled in Borneo.

China

After a number of years he moved to Shanghai and got a job in the Waterworks.

When on leave in England he met my mother, married her, and their honeymoon was spent on the liner taking them back to China."

The trunk was made in China to bring possessions back to England when her parents returned.

Canada

When Jennifer married Trevor she used the trunk to bring her belongings to Canada.
Trevor travelled by plane. Jennifer followed with her parents on:

Empress of England

United States

Framingham

The trunk came to the United States and was in the garage at 12 Daniels Road for 20 years.

Sherborn

The trunk made the trip to Sherborn when my parents moved.

Somerville

The trunk has been in Somerville for many years. Cordell has used the trunk to store his prized possesions.
I confess having promised not to look in the trunk and promptly done so anyway.
The current trunk occupants include two gorillas.
